    The premier of Leena Pukki’s work Jää hyvästi, mummola (Farewell Granny’s place) 6 Jan 2019 was presented at Serlachius Museum Gösta’s Kivijärvi hall. Artist Leena Pukki stayed in Serlachius Residency in 2016. The work depicts how the grandparents of the artist move from the rural area to the centre of a small town. It is about getting old, self-determination, family ties, trauma, caring, attachment to a certain place and generations’ different opinions.

    Canadian film maker Marianna Milhorat has filmed hounds’ predator tests in Mänttä and elsewhere. During the Friday coffee she explained why. Artist and lecturer Christopher Taylor (USA) has been keen to examine father’s role in Finnish families. During the Friday coffee he organised a short drawing workshop for the children.  David Waterworth (UK) collects images and short stories about every-day objects. Why for someone wool slippers are symbols for the Serlachius Museums?

    Serlachius Residency Gallery had open doors during Gustaf’s Trunk flea market. British curator David Waterworth presented the project that he has been working during his residency period: he has collected stories behind every-day objects which symbolise the Serlachius Museums for the local people.
