The Serlachius Residency is a guest studio, maintained by Gösta Serlachius Fine Arts Foundation, for professionals of the creative sector working in the visual arts. The Serlachius Residency was established in 2015 in cooperation the Mänttä Art Festival.
The residency provides a peaceful working environment. We produce for Art Town Mänttä-Vilppula small events that provide a forum for interaction between the public and residency guests. There is free admission to all residency events. We do not charge our guests rent for accommodation or working spaces.
The selection of residency guests for 2020 have been made. The application period for 2021 begins on 1 February 2020. For 2021 we are also launching a four-month long Art Wall project, which aims to produce a wall painting for the locality in collaboration with the town of Mänttä-Vilppula. The project will run from March to June 2021, and a fee of EUR 8,000 will be paid to the artist or group of artists selected for it.
