
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR LIVING IN EINOLA
- The resident must take good care of the premises and maintain general cleanliness
- The premises must be returned in the same condition as they were received at the end of the residency period, i.e., cleaned. A cleaning closet is located in the kitchen.
- Noise or behavior that disturbs other residents is prohibited. Quiet hours in Einola are from 11 PM to 6 AM. During this time, please be mindful that some residents may already be asleep.
- Residents are expected to act environmentally responsibly by following recycling and energy-saving guidelines and recommendations.
- The resident is responsible for compensating for any damage caused through his or her negligence.
- The residency apartment and workspaces will be inspected after the residency period ends. If the resident's cleaning and maintenance are found to be inadequate,
The Residency reserves the right to charge the resident for the resulting cleaning costs.
SAFETY

- The apartment is equipped with an automatic fire alarm system.
- Fire extinguishers for initial fire response are located in the hallway, lobby,
- and kitchen.
- Emergency exits, in addition to the main door, are located in the rooms.
- Use appliances and machines according to the instructions provided. Instruction manuals can be found in the folder in the upper kitchen cabinet. You can also ask the residency coordinator for guidance.
- Familiarize yourself with the safety instructions, which can be found in the house manual and on the hallway wall.
- First aid supplies are located in the bottom drawer of the kitchen, marked with a green cross. Notify the residency coordinator of any shortages in the first aid kit.
PETS
- Pets are prohibited due to potential allergies.
- Registered personal assistance dogs are permitted.
HEATING
- The normal room temperature is 20–22°C. The apartment has an automatic heating/ventilation system. Do not adjust its settings.
- Electric radiators are available in the rooms for heating. The radiator control panel is located on the radiator. If you are away from the residency for an extended period,
lower the radiator temperature to save energy.
- Floor heating in the bathroom and toilet is always on. Do not adjust the thermostats

Sauna
- The sauna control panel is located on the sauna door window. Set the desired temperature and turn on the power.
- When the electric sauna is on, the electric heating will cut off. Turn off the sauna immediately after use.
- Only water may be poured onto the sauna stove.
- Always use a seat cover

WASHING MACHINE
- Turn on the machine using the power switch
- Open the water tap located above the machine on the left side.
- Use your own laundry detergent according to the instructions
- Select the program and start the machine.
- Close the tap and leave the door open after use.
- Save energy and water by washing full loads.
- Dry laundry in the dryer or on a drying rack, which can be found in the bathroom closet, or outside on a clothesline.

DRYER
- Only dry clean laundry.
- Empty the water container and clean the lint filter after each use.
DISHWASHER
- Turn on the water at the kitchen tap.
- Wipe off the largest food residues from dishes before placing them in the dishwasher
- Use only dishwasher tablets, which can be found in the container on the counter.
- Turn on the power.
- Select the program and start the machine.
- Close the tap and leave the door open after use.
- Save energy and water by running the dishwasher only when it is full.
SMOKING
- Smoking is strictly prohibited in all indoor areas.
- Ensure that outdoor ashtrays are emptied and the smoking area is kept clean.
- Do not expose others to passive smoking; avoid smoking near doors and windows.
VENTILATION
- The apartment has mechanical ventilation. If you wish to air out the apartment, remember to close the windows and doors afterward.
- Do not keep windows and doors open unnecessarily, as this disrupts the automatic ventilation and heating system.
REPORTING OBLIGATIONS
- Notify the residency coordinator if you notice any deficiencies or damages in the equipment or facilities.
- Report any rule violations by other residents.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU USE DAMAGED EQUIPMENT
LAUNDRY SERVICE
- The laundry service collects and delivers the house laundry (towels, sheets) on Tuesdays and Fridays in the morning from the apartment's vestibule. Ensure the laundry bag is placed in the vestibule on time.
- Residents are responsible for storing clean laundry in the cabinets. The laundry cabinet is located in the laundry room.
CLEANING
- Each resident is responsible for the cleanliness of their own room and common areas.
- The cleaning closet is located in the kitchen.
- Store your belongings only on designated shelves or spaces.
- A cleaning service visits Einola every other week, usually on Fridays. They clean the common areas and rooms.
- If you do not want cleaning in your room, notify the service and leave a note on your door.

- Ensure your room is cleaned at the end of your stay. If deficiencies are found in the final cleaning, additional cleaning costs will be charged based on the hourly rate.
RECYCLING
The environmental and sustainability efforts of the Serlachius Museums are guided by the international environmental standard ISO 14001. Environmental responsibility is a core value for us.
- We expect residents to act responsibly toward the environment by following the provided recycling and energy-saving guidelines
- The kitchen has separate bins for biowaste and mixed waste. Bins for paper, cardboard, metal, glass, and plastic are located in the hallway.
- Use biowaste bags for biowaste; additional bags can be found on the waste bin door.
- When the collection bin is full, empty it into the recycling point located behind the museum.
- Plastic recycling is voluntary and can be taken to the recycling point in the S-market parking lot.
- A recycling guide can be found in the Einola house manual and near the recycling point in the cleaning closet. You can also ask for guidance from the residency coordinator.
ENERGY SAVING
- Act energy-efficiently by using only the necessary amount of water and electricity.
- Turn off lights.
- Wash full loads of laundry and dishes.
- Maintain a moderate temperature.
- Do not leave electrical appliances, such as the sauna stove, on unnecessarily.
