
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR THE RESIDENCY STUDIO AND GALLERY SPACES
- The resident must take good care of the premises and maintain general cleanliness
- Residents must take good care of the premises and ensure their general cleanliness. After the end of the residency period, the premises must be handed in the condition in which they were accepted, i.e. cleaned up and tidy.
- The cleaning closet is located next to the sculpture hall.
- The studio can be used freely around the clock, except for specifically announced exceptions.
- Overnight stays in the studio are prohibited.
- Noise or behavior that disturbs other residents is prohibited.
- Residents are expected to act environmentally responsibly by following recycling and energy-saving guidelines and recommendations.

PETS
- Pets are allowed to visit the downstairs lobby and gallery spaces. In such cases, possible allergies of others must be taken into consideration.
- Registered guide dogs are also allowed in the studios.
HEATING
- The building has a water-based district heating system and air heat pumps.
- The rooms have radiators for heating. You can adjust the temperature in your studio using the thermostat on the radiator.
- In case of heating-related issues, please contact the residency coordinator.
MINI KITCHEN
- The mini kitchen is equipped with a coffee maker, kettle, mini fridge, microwave, and a small sink.
- The compost bin is located in the kitchen.
- The kitchen is intended for storing and heating daily meals.
- Please keep the kitchen tidy.
- Remove expired food items from the fridge.
- Store dry goods and other non-perishable food items in a sealed container in your own studio.
DO NOT REMOVE APPLIANCES FROM THE KITCHEN.
DISHWASHER
- Turn on the water using the tap on the right side of the sink.
- Turn on the power.
- Rinse dishes before placing them in the dishwasher.
- Use liquid dishwasher detergent, which is located in the lower cabinet next to the sink.
- Select the program and start the machine.
- Close the tap and leave the door open after use.
- DO NOT put hand dishwashing detergent in the machine.
- Save energy and water by running the dishwasher only when it is full.
MICROWAVE
- Select the desired power level.
- The microwave starts by turning the timer.
SMOKING
- Smoking is strictly prohibited in all indoor areas.
- Ensure that outdoor ashtrays are emptied and the smoking area is kept clean.
- Do not expose others to passive smoking; avoid smoking near doors and windows.
REPORTING OBLIGATIONS
- Notify the residency coordinator if you notice any deficiencies or damages in the equipment or facilities.
- Report any rule violations by other residents.

RECYCLING and energiansäästö
The environmental and sustainability efforts of the Serlachius Museums are guided by the international environmental standard ISO 14001. Environmental responsibility is a core value for us.
- We expect residents to act responsibly toward the environment by following the provided recycling and energy-saving guidelines
- The kitchen has separate bins for biowaste and mixed waste. Bins for paper, cardboard, metal, glass, and plastic are located in the hallway.
- Use compostable bags for biowaste; they are located in the lower cabinet of the mini kitchen.
- When the collection bin is full, please empty it. The waste disposal area is located outside on the museum side.
- Plastic for recycling should be taken to the recycling point in the S-market parking lot.
- A sorting and recycling guide can be found in the guidebook and next to the collection point. You can also ask the residency coordinator for instructions.
- Act energy-efficiently by using only the necessary amount of water and electricity.
SAFETY
- The general emergency number is 112
- The building has an automatic fire alarm system.
- Fire extinguishers for initial fire response are located in the studios and lobby areas in marked locations. DO NOT MOVE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS.
- In addition to the main door, the windows in the rooms serve as emergency exits. Escape routes are marked.
- Use equipment and machines according to the instructions. You can also ask the residency coordinator for guidance.
- Familiarize yourself with the safety instructions, which can be found in the house manual and next to the first aid cabinet in the lobby.
- The first aid kit and supplies are located in the lobby tool storage. Notify the residency coordinator of any shortages in first aid supplies.
